Global Forum 2017

Our Global Youth Forum is a unique event, which will gather together more than 100 participants from all over the globe, with the aim of discussing solutions for the world’s most prevalent issues. The event is organized by Youth Time International Movement in cooperation with the General Authority of Youth and Sports Welfare in the United Arab Emirates. The general partners of the event are the Anglo American University and Zagreb School of Business.

The topic of the annually organized event is related to the location and actuality of the matter. This year, participants will learn and discuss the theme, "Ethical Entrepreneurship in the Time of a Competitive Knowledge-based Economy". As such, Youth Time NGO has chosen to organize in November 2017 the Youth Global Forum in Dubai, United Arab Emirates where the development of a sustainable knowledge-led society is one of the main concerns on the nation’s agenda.

Participants of the Youth Global Forum 2017 have a direct opportunity to apply for Youth Time’s Idea Grant with the winner acquiring direct support in the implementation of his or her project. Other winners of the event are awarded prizes by Anglo American University (one year bachelor or masters scholarship) and Zagreb School of Business (one year bachelor or masters scholarship). Further workshops and masterclasses offered at the event will help participants increase their potential and professional growth. To achieve this, YT established a multi-professional team that will increase participant’s project management and self-educational skills.


The United Arab Emirates (UAE) is a country of around 9.3 million people and is situated on the Arabian Peninsula. The nation is a federation of seven emirates with the constituents of Abu Dhabi, Ajman, Dubai, Fujairah, Ras al-Khaimah, Sharjah and Umm al-Quwain. Islam is the official religion with Arabic the official language, but English is used predominantly as the language of business and education, particularly in Abu Dhabi and Dubai. The UAE’s oil and gas reserves are the seventh-largest in the world and in recent years much of the revenues have been invested in healthcare, education and infrastructure.


Dubai is the largest and most populous metropolis in the UAE and has emerged as a global city and business hub of the Middle East. It has recently attracted attention through many innovative large construction projects and sports events. The Arabian Gulf city has become a popular tourist destination and is iconic for its skyscrapers, most notably the world’s tallest building, the Burj Khalifa. Dubai’s wealth of business opportunities as well as its potential to offer a high-standard of living has attracted migrants from all over the world, making the city a celebration of many different communities and cultures.


One of the key visions of the UAE’s national agenda is to develop a sustainable knowledge-based economy in addition to becoming one of the world leaders in the Human Development Index. As such, the cosmopolitan city of Dubai was an obvious choice to host this year’s Global Youth Forum on “Ethical Entrepreneurship in the Time of a Competitive Knowledge-based Economy”.



The Youth Global Forum Initiative

Since 2010 the Youth Time International Movement has come up with the initiative of organizing the Youth Forum in Greece, which annually took place on the island of Rhodes. After five years successfully organizing this event, from 2015 the project has grown and has become more global and accordingly was transformed to the Youth Global Forum. The Youth Global Forum gives the opportunity to young people from all over the world to challenge themselves and present their projects, for which they can win a grant or scholarships at prestigious universities all over the world.

Mission of Youth Global Forum

Presently, the world economy is experiencing a protracted crisis. Further, diminishing resources in an ever-increasing population presents additional challenges and in order to improve the situation both locally and globally, we need new types of entrepreneurial thinking. In fact, there has never been a more crucial time to develop innovative strategies toward building sustainable livelihoods for future generations. A knowledge-based economy is a progressive means of tackling some the biggest issues facing society in the modern era. The aim of the Global Youth Forum 2017 is to bring young people together from all over the world to discuss and redefine what it means to be thinking as an entrepreneur in today’s economic climate.

Event Topics

A harmonious combination of educational and cultural exchange programs encourages participants to become creative, innovative and responsible. This will help young people to foster leadership, human values and a sense of social responsibility toward the global community in addition to leaving them feeling empowered. Through a series of workshops, masterclasses, and key note speeches presented by honorable guests, participants will gain added insight on different perspectives related to entrepreneurship. Topics include:

Youth Time International Movement (YT) is a non-governmental, non-profit organization established in Prague in 2010. YT offers a unique opportunity for young people from all over the world to take part in a tangible network for young active social leaders, as it provides a platform where they can discuss and solve social issues they encounter in their daily lives. YT also offers young people the opportunity to speak with acknowledged professionals and specialists, it supports an open dialogue between younger and older generations, as well as between social and governmental institutes. YT believes that sharing experiences and knowledge can help in constructing a positive future for the current generation as well for generations to come.

  • Form a group of professional trainers, guest speakers providing interesting expertise
  • Conduct challenging learning sessions (mini-trainings, creative workshops), in which the following techniques can be used: learning-by-doing, teaching is learning, as well as other efficient non-formal education approaches

GAYSW is the supreme governmental authority responsible for the welfare of youth and sport sector in United Arab Emirates. GAYSW is playing a leading role in providing a positive attractive environment that enables youth (including the gifted and talented) to develop physical and mental abilities, utilize free time, improve creative skills, deepen national identity principles, instill loyalty, belonging and voluntary work sense. It works also on competitive, recreational and traditional sport development and how to provide a healthy clean environment (free of doping) to carry it out, and make possible to upgrade results at national and international levels.
